What we store

Your email address, a handle, and either a Google account link or a hashed password. Passwords are hashed with scrypt and never stored in a readable form.

Your predictions, their timestamps, your votes on other people’s predictions, and your concessions.

Basic analytics: page views and events such as sealing, voting and sharing. No third-party advertising cookies unless and until ads are switched on, which they are not.

What we do with your email

We email you when a prediction of yours is due, at the halfway point if it is a long one, and once if you doubted something that has since been claimed.

Due-date emails are the function of the site, so they always send. The halfway ones can be turned off in settings or from any of those emails.

We do not sell it, rent it, or send marketing with it.

Who can see what

A private capsule is visible only to you, and to anyone you give its secret link to. It is never on the board, never in the sitemap, and has no share image.

A public challenge is visible to everyone, along with your handle and the votes it has collected.

Voters are recorded so that the concession round can ask them. Individual votes are not shown publicly, only the totals.

Deleting things

You can delete a private capsule at any time.

Ask us to delete your account and we will, along with your private capsules. Public challenges that carry other people's votes may be anonymised rather than removed. Write to [email protected].
